Anodizing Chemicals

When an aluminum part is used as the anode in an electrolytic cell, a controlled oxide film is formed. This process, known as anodizing, enables aluminum to be used in a number of ways for which it might not otherwise be suitable. Anodized aluminum can be found in automotive, aerospace, construction, decorative items, sporting good equipment and many other applications. The anodizing process forms an oxide film which grows from the bass metal as an integral part of the metal. This film imparts a hard, corrosion and abrasion resistant coating with excellent wear properties. The coating, porous in nature can be dyed numerous colors. The following U.S. Specialty products are designed to process aluminum for anodizing and coloring.

Aluminum Cleaner:
Specialty 740 Excellent cleaner for any job shop.

Aluminum Etch:
Specialty 835 Alkaline blend.
Uniform etch rates.
Economical.
Sludge-free.
Scale-free.

Aluminum Deoxidizer:
Specialty 982 Iron based.
Exceptional bath life.
Works at room temperature.
Liquid product for easy mixing.
Highly effective on 2024 and 7075.


Hard Coat Additive:
Specialty Ano-EE Hardcoat up to 60F.
Complies with Military Specifications.
Improves the uniformity of film thickness.
Parts will be clearer in appearance.
The dye-ability of hardcoat films is improved.
